Welcome to the Real MNT...a place where we can have honest conversations about the U.S Men's National Soccer Team.
First, a few caveats:
1) We don't think anything less than the best about our boys. These are our boys, and they play their hearts out. We bleed red, white and blue. If you think we are haters, go back to watching WWE on Spike TV you tossers.
2) We don't expect you to agree with us. This blog is not about leading with your heart; it's about thinking with your football mind and calling BS when you see it.
3) This site is not a fan of Frankie Hey-Duck!!!! When you finally figure out how to get a cross into the box, you'll come off our sh*t list. Until then. All jokes lead to Frankie Hey-Duck.
4) We are officially starting the timer on Bob Bradley's tenure as MNT coach...tick tick tick...hope we don't wait for south Africa to make the call.
5) We hope you agree, disagree, challenge, spar and otherwise beat the crap out of our opinions. It proves you care.

It is also my hope that we take an honest look at U.S. soccer in general. I think the fact that the U.S. Soccer and MLS work with separate agendas hurts the establishment of the beautiful game in our country.
ReplyDeleteU.S. Soccer absolutely blew the selection of a new Manager. Whether Klinsman was really interested or not, the fact that we ended up promoting another MLS Manager to this job is disgusting. When will U.S. Soccer shed this stupid pride of needing Yank born bosses and go out and a Manager that is actually going to develop our players and help us become a country that can actually compete for World Cup title and not have the lone goal as "get out of group play".
MLS also needs to wake up and put the priorities of the country first. I know they are trying to make a sub par league better, but by refusing international transfers for the sake of keeping our stars in MLS is a disservice to them and to U.S. Soccer. Look, MLS, you are still going to get your kids and your soccer moms to games regardless of talent. You could import Chelsea as an expansion team and those of us who know and love the game still aren't going. Okay, we'll go to tailgate and drink some beers, but we definetely aren't going into stadiums thinking we are going to see anything more than an average footballinterested or not, the fact that we ended up promoting another MLS Manager to this job is disguisting.
